Hi There, I’m Ashlen!

Ashlen grew up in a small town in North Alabama. Recently, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Graphic design with a minor in photography at Troy University. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Fine Arts at Jacksonville State University. As a young girl, she has always been creative in art. She was diagnosed with Dyslexia in elementary school and always felt she was most successful in fine arts. Regarding her decision on her desired career, she wanted to enter Graphic Design.

Photography has always been a passion of hers. Her skills when it comes to photography would be landscape, portrait, studio light, abstract, and nature photography. She has experience in studio light techniques, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop editing skills, and natural light photography. Her other skill sets would be designing logos, creating illustrations, designing seasonal cards, using typography, and creating magazine layouts.

She has interned with a portrait photographer in Boaz, Alabama, Sherry Abercrombie. Her recent employer was in the Public Relations department as a student photographer for Troy University. Currently, she holds a position as a Graduate Assistant in the academic affairs department at Jacksonville State University. She is striving to become an educator to teach others about her passion for visual communication as a profession.
